These censuses were taken from 1850 to 1900, although not all have survived. By 1902, most states had implemented vital records laws and the mortality schedules were phased out. It is important to remember that the information is available only for the year immediately preceding the census. Those who died outside of this range were never enumerated. Even then, the information was under- reported. According to U.S. Public Health Service estimates, only about 60% of deaths were enumerated in the mortality schedules. ---------------------Begin Actual Transcription---------------------------- TRANSCRIBER REMARKS: The front side of the form for the 1880 Mortaliy Census contained columns for entering the census data (numbered 1-17). The back side of the form contained columns (not numbered) for statements from attending phyisicians for those who were enumerated. This transcription only shows the columns from the back side that were used, if any. This census record shows signs of corrections after it was enumerated. There were three different color pens/pencils present. In several places the original entry was overwritten with a different color. Family numbers were also added and one line struck out with a different color. Some ages appear in brackets for unknown reason. ========================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================= CENSUS YEAR: 1880 Mortality STATE: FL OOUNTY: Washington MICROFILM#: none ENUM/DISTR: 157 ENUMERATOR: W.
