The Marriage License Index I mention in the Transcriber Remarks, is a manuscript titled 'Gonzales County, Texas Marriage Licenses Issued 1829 - 1900', copyrighted in 1993 by Marjorie Lee Burnett. 3. This Enumerator's spelling is sometimes very bad. I have transcribed his recordings as he spelled it. 4. All spelling of Birthplaces are as recorded in census. 5. All spelling of Occupations are as recorded in census. 6. All spelling of Relationships are as recorded in census 7. Enumerator uses a long dash and " as a ditto for Last names. This ditto is sometimes used on every person living in a household, even if that person has a different last name. 8. During the tallying of the Census, marks were made over the first name and relationship of the heads of households. 9. Sex, Race and Month of Birth is not recorded in some instances. 10. Un in the birthplace columns may indicate Unknown. 11. Un in the married, widowed or divorced column, may indicate Unmarried or Unknown. 12. Pages 113A thru 117A cover a part of Waelder, TX. 13. Enumerator sometimes spells Mississippi as Missippi. 14. Enumerator spells Louisiana as Lousiana. 15. Marriages less than a year old was recorded as a fraction and overwritten with a 0 or vies versa. 16.
