The following is quoted from the "Introduction" to the printed copy. "There are some interesting items about this 1860 Census that need an explanation. Brazos County and Robertson County were listed by the same Enumerator, G. H. LOVE. Robertson County is listed on pages 1-69 (enumerator numbering) and Brazos County begins with page 70 through 112. Page 112 has the statement that Robertson and Brazos Counties have 112-1/2 pages (327 families) and is dated 17 September 1860. The problem in reading and researching the two counties is that they have been separated in microfilming and the page numbers have not been filmed consecutively. For example, Brazos County begins (on the film) with pages 108, 109, 96, 97, 98, 99 and then goes back to 70, 71, then 86-95 and so forth. Robertson County has been filmed the same way. This printed record is arranged by enumerator page number as it was originally recorded. On the right side of each page is "Printed #___" which is the finding number on the microfilm roll..... (Signed) 4 July 1983 by Mary COLLIE-Cooper and Allie WHITLEY" Mary and Allie urged the researcher to "...consult the microfilm for any questions..." When viewing the microfilm, I found that my interpretation of several records disagreed with the printed copy. In such cases, I transcribed the record as I interpreted it. Mary graciously gave me a printed copy and granted me permission to use it for transcription purposes. My thanks go to both Mary and Allie who have transcribed many Brazos County records.
