The enumerator's handwriting is, for the most part, clear.  
Transcriptions which were initially doubtful were compared against 
1880 and 1910 censuses, cemetery inscriptions, and marriage records 
for clarification.  A handful uncertain transcriptions remain; 
they are indicated by [?].  No attempt has been made to correct or 
normalize spellings.  The one deviation from a verbatim copy of the
original is the surname is listed for each member of a family group.  
In the original, the surname is written out for the Head, with a line
[--------------] underneath for the other family members with that
surname.  I have repeated the surnames rather than used lines in order
to aid searches and sorting.  An asterisk [*] after an entry is the
equivalent of [sic].  It is used, e.g., where age doesn't match year of
birth or sex doesn't match family relationship.
