Timber white, red, & black oak, chenut, birch, walnut & locust. Rocks sand and lime stone. Water - limestone. The crop of wheat for 1860 is estimated at 20 Bu per acre. Oats 40 to 45 bushels per acre. Many of the farmers have measured the ground and threshed out the grain and in some acres this estimate was at a fraction for acres. Creek bottoms allurial - Rocks Lime & Sand stone - white, red, & black Oak, Ash, Hickory, Maple, Sycamore, Poplar, Walnut, Chesnut and G** natural growth. The water is principally Limestone. The whole of our uplands have an underlay of bituminous coal in this Tp. Our best fertilizer is lime and and is used by many of our farmers. This Tp. Is situated in the frost belt of June 5/59 and suffered severely from its effects.
