The enumerator, John J. Vankirk, also enumerated Pahaquarry and Knowlton Townships in Warren County and he carried over the Dwelling and Family #'s from those townships. Also, you will find any number of odd spellings for given and family names. Mr. Vankirk apparently spelled phometically and you will find such oddities as Margret for Margaret, Sirus for Cyrus, etc., etc." ========================================================================= Stillwater Twp has NOT been proofread! ========================================================================= "The enumerator for Green Township was very lax about entering "occupations" and "birthplaces". Occasionally he used ditto marks in the birthplace column, but did not do so consistently. While it could be assumed that the blank spaces meant "New Jersey", there are places where this assumption is questionable." ========================================================================= Lafayette Twp has NOT been proofread! ========================================================================= ========================================================================= Frankford Twp has NOT been proofread! Also, on the last entry for this township, the enumerator had a comment which follows: "She would be a slave if her services were required but they have not been for several years." =========================================================================
