The 1800 Surry County, North Carolina, Census contains 75 pages (census images), numbered 631 through 712.
There are no pages 632, 645, 651, 654, 665, 694, and 702 on the microfilm.
Pages 637, 667, and 668 are out of focus on the microfilm, making some names blurry and illegible.

Census did not have a column entitled "Total" but it is included here as information derived from the census information.

First page has a notation on the side:  'Salisbury Dist'.  
However, no other districts or divisions are indicated anywhere on the census forms.  
Since it covers the entire county of Surry, it must be either the entire county is 
considered the 'Salisbury Dist' or the enumerator intended to set forth the district 
but failed to do so after the first page.  Had the latter been true, it would have 
been difficult since he attempted to have all the names in alphabetical order.  
Therefore, it is assumed the 1800 Surry Census covered the entire county without 
respect to dividing it by district within the county.

From page 631 to 703, the names were entered in the format:  Last Name, First Name 
with a few exceptions where I believe he failed to do so.  These exception have been 
so noted in the Remarks column.  However, from page 704 to 711, it clearly has been 
entered in the format:  First Name, Last Name.  
For consistency and the purposes of this work, I have entered these latter pages in 
the same format as all the previous pages:  Last Name, First Name.

The enumerator, Jesse Lester, subscribed to the census on April 22, 1801.

The following remarks relate to totals shown on the census pages indicated:

     See Page 681, written page 583:  Totals of each column on the census include the 
     totals from pages 680 and 681 (totals for the 'N' names) and entries for the 'O' names.  
     The Total column (not found on actual census) amount is only those entries for the 'O's on page 681.

     See Page 697, written page 599:  The totals shown for the 'V' names found under each column 
     shown on the census is made up of the totals found on page 696 and the entries on page 697.  
     The Total column (not found on the actual census) represents total of entries on page 697.
