Carteret County, NC 1850 Free Inhabitants Census Transcription

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES:

There are 3 sets of numbering, the printed, the hand-written starting with 217, 
and in ( )'s the enumerator's numbering starting with 1.

An * is placed for a letter that is unreadable.  
In most cases, this occurs when I or J is used as a middle initial.  
The enumerator writes both the same in one section of the book.

At one point, the enumerator skips around in the townships.  
In doing this, he has duplicated one of his page numbers and skipped another.
