For Slave Color: B - Black Col - Colored M - Mulatto Y - Yellow On occasion, some enumerators will only list a value in this column if it is not Black. For Slaves over 100 years old, frequently (not always) the name of the slave is listed. While women were not supposed to be able to own property at the time of these census enumerations, there are numerous entries where the owner of the slaves either has a "female" first name or is identified as "Mrs." CENSUS-YEAR 1850 SLAVE SCHEDULE MICROFILM #M432-422 STATE MISSOURI COUNTY DAVIESS ---------------------Begin Actual Transcription--------------------------- LEFT SET OF COLUMNS =============================================================================================== CENSUS YEAR: 1850 SLAVE STATE: MISSOURI COUNTY: DAVIESS DISTRICT: DISTRICT NO 27 MICROFILE: M432-422 ENUMERATOR: HUGH PARRY PAGE NO: 600 HANDWRITTEN: 1 ENUM/DATE: OCTOBER 23, 1850 =============================================================================================== FUGI. #MANU- DEAF Slave Owner # OF DESCRIPTION FROM MITTED DUMB LN# LAST NAME FIRST NAME SLAVES AGE SEX CLR STATE (FREED) BLIND TRANSCRIBER REMARKS (1) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) =============================================================================================== L-1 McCue David 1 29 F M . . . .
