Wayne County, Kentucky 1810 http://www.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ky/wayne/1810/ ========================================================================================= DESCENDANT'S NOTE for Samuel Newell ========================================================================================= The enumerator apparently was a bad speller. Samuel Newell was 1st Co Judge of Wayne County, KY. He is not shown in the Wayne County Kentucky 1810 census. However, on page 369, 9th name down of that census, the head-of-household name was recorded as "Samuel Neal". I have dob for Samuel Newell's children and they match the counts-by-age on line 9 for the Samuel Neal household. The others in Samuel Newell's neighborhood are on the same page, e.g. next door neighbor John Simpson on line 10. Samuel Newell (and no Samuel Neal) is on the tax lists 1800-1816. In the years after 1812 that the tax lists are by militia company instead of alphabetic, Samuel is in his son John Montgomery Newell's militia company tax roster. ========================================================================================= Note furnished by Samuel Newell's gr-gr-gr-grandson, Fred Weyler =========================================================================================
