Lime may be considered as the natural fertilizer. ENUMERATOR'S REMARKS: The only maldys which prevaild in this county during the year ending 1850 were Cholera and Dyentery in a mild form. A fact my be noted here that, in that of the county (Rising Sun) where cistern water is used almost entirely, the health was much better than in that part where limestone water is used.
