Adams, IL 1850 Federal Census Transcriber's Notes: ================== Quincy, North Ward ================== Beginning with page 208b E.H. Buckley, the enumerator of the majority of the North Ward census started making dash (-) marks in Box 6 (color) box whenever he was indicating a Male. He does this very frequently but not consistently so this transcriber cannot determine his intent. There is no page 219b in this file even though the hand numbering jumps from 437 on page 219a to page 439 on 220a. Beginning with page 220a the Dwelling and Family numbers are started over. These are however different families and a different enumerator (Wm R. Lockwood) Beginning with page 220a Mr Lockwood entered women as Elisabeth. Previously Mr. Buckley entered names as Elizabeth. It was extremely difficult to differentiate Mr. Lockwood's S's from his L's. When researching this ward it would be wise to look for Last names under both letters. ======================= The Town of Honey Creek ======================= Stamped pages 110B and 111A are on the microfilm twice. ========================================================================================== This Census is being transcribed and proofread by a TEAM of volunteers for the USGenWeb Census Project®, http://www.us-census.org/ ==========================================================================================
